Privacy policy
Instrumenta Pty Ltd (ABN 71 699 771 796) handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy applies to this website and to our work with clients.
What we collect
We collect the personal information needed to answer enquiries and deliver our services. This includes a name, role, organisation, email address, telephone number and the content of correspondence. In the course of an engagement we may also hold names and roles of client staff who appear in monitoring records, response plans and reports.
The consultation request form on the Enquiries page sends the details entered to Instrumenta by email. To limit misuse, the form keeps a one-way code of the sender's IP address for one hour. The form does not keep a copy of the request.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. Our web host records the standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operation.
How we use it
We use personal information to answer enquiries, to agree and deliver engagements, to issue invoices, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not send marketing.
Disclosure
We disclose personal information only when an engagement requires it, when the law requires it, or to providers we use to run the business. An engagement may require disclosure to a client's staff and advisers. Business providers include email, document storage and accounting services; some may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure those providers protect it.
Storage and security
Personal information is stored in business systems protected by access controls, and is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for or as the law requires. Monitoring data and records belong to the client and are handled under the terms of the engagement.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by email to the address on the Enquiries page. We respond within 30 days.
Complaints
A complaint about how we have handled personal information can be made to us by email. If it is not resolved, it can be taken to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
